BSA’s 100th anniversary

Stay tuned to this page for more information on how the Tukabatchee Area Council is celebrating the BSA’s 100th anniversary.

In February 2010, the Boy Scouts of America will celebrate 100 years as an organization. Founded as an outlet to prepare every eligible youth in America to become a participating citizen and leader, BSA has more than fulfilled its mission. Today, as we celebrate our first 100 years, we not only reflect on our rich history, but lay the foundation for a strong future, as well.

There are many ways for you to get involved. Check out some of the activities the national council has available.

The Tukabatchee Area Council kicked off its celebration of the 100th anniversary on August 4, 2009. Over 700 Scouts, Scouters, alumni and friends met at St. James UMC in Montgomery for a night of reminiscing, program previews, program displays and fun!

For the 100th Anniversary celebration four vintage merit badges are being released for the Centennial Year only, giving Boy Scouts the hands-on opportunity to experience the exciting past of BSA. These merit badges can only be earned during 2010. For more information click here!
