Biscuits Camporee! May 3rd

It's time to prepare for our Annual Biscuits Camporee! This event is always a huge sucess and sells out quickly. If you're new to the Biscuits Camporee
you and your scout are in for an awesome experience. The evening begins with all scouts and leaders participating in a parade around the field
followed by opening ceremonies. Arrive early and take advantage of the FREE inflatable moon walks before the parade, some lucky scout will
even get a special tour and a special treat!! A ball game, moonwalks, parade, fireworks, camping all in the same day! It just
doesn't get any better than that!!
Costs are: Game Tickets $9.00 each, Patches, $3.00 each, Camporee passes (limited to 700): $10.00 each.

Webelos Residence Camp Cub Scout Twilight Camp

2008
Webelos Residence Camp is designed to give Webelos Scouts a taste of what attending Boy Scout Summer Camp is like.
In fact, on Friday night we'll take a three mile roundtrip hike over to Camp Tukabatchee and join the Boy Scouts at Summer Camp for dinner.
There is a fabulous lake where scouts can fish and canoe. The Webelos will also have a great time earning their Engineer, Forester, Outdoorsman and Aquanaut Activity Badges.
Archery and BB Guns round out the Weekend.
Camp Dates are: June 20 - 22 or June 27 - 29.
Registration fee is $85 ($95 if paid after June 5). Packs are allowed to have two registered leaders attend camp for free
or 1 adult for every 5 scouts.

Cub Scout Twilight Camp is an opportunity for Cub Scouts and their families to participate in fun Scouting activities like archery, BB guns,
swimming, hiking and more. Cub Scouts who attend will have the opportunity to work on ther advancements and earn belt loops.
Like Webelos In Residence Camp, the theme this year is "Survivor" and all crafts, games, and events will be centered aroud this
fun theme.

SUMMER CAMP 2008!
Time to "Lock and Load" for Summer Camp!
The Preview Meeting is scheduled for January 8, 2008 at 6:30 PM, at the Scout Center.
Each unit needs to ensure an adult leader is present in order to receive credit of one free adult leader at camp!
More importantly, the unit will receive a copy of the Leader's Guide (disc or hard copy).
You can reserve the week and campsite you want as well. Any youth desiring to be on staff can submit an application at that time. Of course, Mike Neeck will provide some of his famous chili-
in large supply- so don't miss it!!

The Tukabatchee Area Council JLTC Staff invites you to join us for a fun, safe learning experience benefiting you and the world brotherhood of Scouting.
Course TUK 5-10, to be held at Camp Tukabatchee July 20-26 2008 is limited to 48 participants.

Philmont 2008 and 2009!
Get Ready for High Adventure at the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico!
Our 2008 contingent is currently preparing for their trip to Philmont Scout Ranch in northeastern New Mexic, where they will spend
12 days backpacking in the southern Rocky Mountains this July.
On July 7, 24 members of our Council will depart for an experience they will never forget!
We have the opportunity to return to Philmont in 2009! The Ranch has allocated us 48 slots for July 11-23, days actually spent at Philmont.
The Council will have to confirm the number of slots we will use by paying a deposit for all those who have signed up and paid their deposit for 2009.
We will only reserve slots for those held by deposit.
On January 8th, we will hold a meeting for all those interested(youth and adults), at 6:30 PM at the Council Service Center.
The adults for the 2009 contingent will work on the travel and touring plans.
Possible tor sites include: Pikes Peak, the Air Force Academy and Garden of the Gods.

Moccasin Gap is sure
to be a wild ride
Plan an exciting
fun filled adventure down the Coosa River with your group this Summer.
Canoes with life jackets and paddles are available for rent at a minimal
cost of $100.00 per trailer (this includes six canoes with jackets and
paddles).
There are two
full trailers available at the Alabama Power Company building in Wetumpka.
Once you put in below Jordan Dam ride the rapids of the Coosa river down
through the rocks of Moccasin Gap. Many groups get out here, have lunch
and take a dip in the water. The its back in the canoes to ease one down
the river to take out point (the boat landing in Wetumpka).
This canoe run
is close, convenient, and makes for a full day of fun. To make your groups

Challenging Outdoor
Personal Experience
The COPE course
is an exciting program which involves a series of challenging outdoor
activities. There are initiatives games, a high and low ropes course,
a rappelling tower and climbing wall. The one day program includes several
of these activities and lunch. Some of the events involve a group effort,
while others test individual skills and agility.
Participants balance,
swing, jump and think through solutions to a variety of challenges. Come
test your groups skills and see if they live up to what you thought they
may be.
The cost for a
member is $35.00 per participant or a minimum of $300.00, which ever is
greater. For a non-member the cost is $45.00 per participant or a minimum
of $400.00, which ever is greater. Other packages and full COPE program
