What is the University of Scouting?

The University of Scouting is a council-wide training event designed to provide a more in-depth study than can be provided in the basic training courses offered for the various leadership positions. This is accomplished through the use of experienced leaders offering a large number of single-topic courses varying in length from one to three hours.

 

Who should attend?

All adult leaders and parents within the Tukabatchee Area Council and surrounding areas. Classes are also available for Scouts BSA youth ages 11-17.

 

Where will the University of Scouting be held?

Aldersgate United Methodist Church

Additional Offerings:

The Montgomery Scout Shop will have a satellite store at the University of Scouting. Bring along spending money to grab a few items needed for your program of fun!

What does the University of Scouting Cost?

The cost of the University of Scouting is $20. This fee includes a day of learning, lunch, a patch, and a certificate of completion.

Are there additional fees?

Some classes include an additional fee of:

• Stave making: $5

• Dutch Oven Cooking: $5

• CPR and AED: $25

• Cooking for Pack Campouts: $5

Opening:    08:45 am - 09:00 am

Session 1:   09:00 am - 09:50 am

Session 2:   10:00 am - 10:50 am

Session 3:   11:00 am - 11:50 am

Lunch:         12:00 pm - 12:50 pm

Session 4:   01:00 pm - 01:50 pm

Session 5:   02:00 pm - 02:50 pm

Session 6:   03:00 pm - 03:50 pm

Closing:       04:00 pm - 04:15 pm
