Staff National Youth Leadership Training

June 1, 2025 - June 6, 2025 at Camp Tukabatchee

NYLT Staff will be a team of 12-14 youth and several adults. Half of the NYLT staff should be made up of youth who have not served on an NYLT staff before.

NYLT STAFF CULTURE

• From the NYLT syllabus: NYLT staff must embrace the culture of servant leadership with a view to success for all. A culture of servant leadership means that all staff are committed to embracing a culture of inclusive service, ensuring all participants have a high-quality experience during the course. A culture of servant leadership also means that every staff member will be held and hold themselves accountable to “pull their weight” in executing the course and managing their “on-course staff persona” (emotions, mood, and mindset) in a positive manner.

• From NYLT Scoutmaster: NYLT is a course based on servant leadership. We are better than no one, and we do our part and do it willingly. Staffing is demanding and requires hard work. There will be assignments you must do on your own time, such as learning lessons and planning. Our staff training weekends are long days and require good positive energy.
