Wood Badge is an advanced, national leadership course open only to Scouting volunteers and professionals.

Wood Badge is the ultimate leadership training program for the adult leaders of the Boy Scouts of America. Established in 1919 by Robert Baden-Powell, Scouting's founder, Wood Badge has been the training ground for hundreds of thousands of Scouters around the world. Wood Badge brings together leaders from all areas of Scouting — Cub Scouting, Scouting, Venturing and all levels of BSA professional staff. The course draws upon the most current leadership models used by corporate America, academic circles, and successful outdoor leadership organizations throughout the country.
Our next Wood Badge course will be 5 days long. The first weekend is Saturday-Monday, February 13- February 15, 2027 and the second weekend is Saturday-Sunday, February 20-21, 2027. Both weekends start promptly at 8 am the first day and lasts until late afternoon. Participants are required to attend all days on both weekends. DO NOT let the cost of the course dissuade you. Many units will defray the cost of your attendance and partial scholarships are available from your District and our Council.

Who can attend?

Wood Badge is for adult leaders in Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouts, and Explorers, as well as district and council Scouters.

Must be a registered Scouter 18 years or older.

Have completed basic training courses for their Scouting position.
